-ABOUT THE SHOW-

During World War II, the Japanese Army kidnapped thousands of Korean women and forced them into prostitution.  This play dramatizes a sorrowful chapter in the 20th Century and shows that even under the most appalling of circumstances, kindness and decency will somehow emerge and thereby justify mankind's existence.

The show is written by Steve Gold and is directed by Justin Gallagher. The original off-Broadway cast included Miaojuan Chen as Hye-Ree, Teruaki Akai as Ito and Jose Gamo as Saito, which was presented at the Jewel Box Theatre in New York City in 2016.

Comfort Woman will grace the New York stage once more when it is presented at the Secret Theatre in Long Island City, New York. The show will be part of the 2017 One Act Competition January 9th-28th. The show will once again be directed by Justin Gallagher; the actors: Miaojuan Chen once again as Hye-Ree, Aziz Karash as Lt. Ito and Christopher Kim as Lt. Saito.
